14 weeks!

It's hard to believe that I am 14 weeks along tomorrow. Morning sickness seems to be getting slightly better... slowly. I have this weird pattern developing, and it's starting to drive me a little crazy. I am really sick Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, but feel great Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. This is actually week 3 of this crazy cycle. I have no clue what the deal is with that, but it's out of my control. I'll take four days of no throwing up a week anytime! I was given a prescription to take when necessary to help with the nausea and vomiting, but am not really taking it. I took it once a couple weeks ago, but was down and out for the rest of the day. (literally! I feel asleep shortly after taking it for almost 4 hours) I took it this past Saturday because I was feeling a little queasy and had to shoot a wedding, but I don't think I'll do that again. It sucks every last bit of energy out of me. At least when I do have morning sickness, it's always better by around 11am. Much better than all day!!! I can tell my energy level is returning so I truly think the end of morning sickness is near. It's official, I'm definitely getting a little baby bump so I've posted a picture below. No more sucking it in and hiding it for me :)

We heard the heartbeat!!

We had our second Doctors appointment today and were able to hear our little one's heartbeat!!! It definitely made everything seem a bit more real.... finally :) The Dr first found the heartbeat on the far right side of my body, then lost it, and found it again on the middle-left side. We've been calling our little one "monkey" for awhile (partly because it's just weird to call our baby "it"), and it looks like that nickname truly fits him/her. The heartbeat was 168 beats per minute which our Dr was pleased with. Everything else seems to be right on track. I was hoping we would be able to find out the sex of the baby next appoinment, right before we leave for vacation, but it's looking like we won't find out until the beginning of August. Bummer! The morning sickness has been a little out of control lately, but I was given a prescription today to try and help with the nausea and vomiting. I'm 12 weeks along tomorrow so I'm hoping that the end of being sick is just around the corner. We are already dying to hear the heartbeat again, and are pretty tempted to buy a doppler so we can hear it any time we want. It truly is an amazing sound.
