Somebody Loves Rice Cereal & Vanilla Biscuits

Little man has learned to do so many things in the past couple days. Jaiden and I went to IL last weekend to surprise my Grandma Williams as she is recovering from a rough fall off a ladder. She was so happy to see little Jaiderbug and I think it's safe to say we put a little smile back on her face. Kevin couldn't believe all the new things Jaiden had conquered in such a short time. He is sitting up on his own, (still a bit wobbly at times, but learning fast) and has found his toes. He shoves all of them in his mouth and chews on them... yuck. He also finds himself pretty amusing as he has learned to make little fart noises with his mouth. Ahhh, gotta love boys! We started rice cereal last week and thankfully he loves it. It's amazing how quickly they catch on to new things. He knows to open his mouth whenever he sees a spoon coming near. We gave him a vanilla teething biscuit the other evening and he was thrilled. We took it away from him when it got to the point where little pieces were breaking off and he let us know he wasn't too happy about it.

We leave Saturday for PA! We can't wait for our mini vacation :) Our hotel has a heated indoor pool and we're dying to get little monkey in the water. I'm sure we'll have lots of fun pictures to post when we get back.

5 months old...

We cannot believe how big Jaiden is getting. Everyone warned us to treasure the first year because it flies by so quickly... you never realize just what they mean until you’re living it. I am so not ready for him to be 6 months next month. Our baby is growing up too fast. Every time I sit and reflect of all the sad things I miss about him being itty bitty, I have to admit there are tons of new and exciting things he is now doing and so much more to look forward to. His personality is coming out more and more everyday and we are having a blast watching him discover new things on a daily basis. He is such a little flirt and will smile at anyone and everyone who gives him attention. He has figured out how to play me like a fiddle... he has perfected a cute, but very fake cry whenever I leave his eyesight. As soon as I am back in sight he throws his arms up, kicks around his feet, and smirks in triumph. What a goof. He absolutely loves putting everything he can get his hands on in his mouth and teething toys that can be put in the freezer are my new best friend. He loves his vibrating teether and will gnaw on it constantly. He has had a small but very satisfying taste of real food and he LOVED it. I let him suck on a piece of watermelon the other day and he’s also tasted a banana. His eyes lit up and he was thrilled. If I’m holding him while I eat he stares intently on my food and tries desperately to get whatever it is that I’m eating. Needless to say, he’s definitely ready for rice cereal. We will be starting it this weekend so be sure to check back for some funny pictures. Jaiden absolutely loves being outside. We’ve incorporated numerous walks into our daily routine. As he is getting bigger and established some sort of a schedule, we’ve been able to get out of the house and do so many new things. His latest adventure was heading over to Lansing for the day to help his Auntie A (Amanda) find a dress for her wedding that’s coming up next summer. We had a great time and are excited for Amanda & Brady’s big day. Saying she’s going to be a beautiful bride is an understatement. We’ve also been spending a lot of our time watching Uncle Tyler and Aunt Alisha play tennis during the week and we love watching Ty’s baseball tournaments on the weekends. Anything that gets us out of the house is fabulous for us. I’m thinking a trip to the zoo is in our near future.

Our next big trip is coming up soon. We are making our way out to PA on the 29th to see one of my closest childhood friends get married. We can’t wait. Fingers crossed for a happy little guy during the long car ride.

We are heading up to Grand Rapids to get some family pictures taken tonight. The weather turned out fabulous and I'm so excited. I'll post them as soon as I have them.
