Just for Fun :)

As delivery day quickly approaches we’re all getting so anxious to finally meet our little girl! I can still remember the anticipation that came as Jaiden’s big debut approached-- I was finally going to be able to put a face to the little bean that’d been growing and moving inside me for months. Kevin and I have been looking at pictures of Jaiden when he was first born and it’s absolutely crazy to think back to when he was that tiny. (side note: I was packing the hospital bag and packed up some of Makenna's newborn sized onesies, and Kevin's response was "NOOO WAY... that's way too little" HA- crazy how quickly we forget how itty bitty they are in the beginning) We also pulled out pictures of ourselves as newborns as we thought it would be fun to compare the three of ours all together. For those who haven’t seen Kevin’s hospital picture— look at all that hair!! I would be thrilled if Makenna came out with a head full of hair like that! It’d be perfect for all the fun accessories I’ve bought. We will see soon enough! Either way, I can already assure you that she’s going to be absolutely perfect to us. Enjoy the pictures down memory lane :)

**I have an appointment Friday morning. I'll be sure to update the blog over the weekend with any news. They've been trying to guess Makenna's weight for weeks, but my contractions have been too strong for them to even figure out which position she's laying in, let alone size.

Jaid’s 15 Month Appointment & 35 weeks along for me!

First of all, I’ve officially reached the 35 week along point, in turn, meaning 35 days left!!! Hopefully less than that! I’m so happy to be at this point. I need to say that anyone who knows me knows that I feel truly blessed to be able to be pregnant and I definitely don’t take a minute of it for granted. I know too many people that either cannot get pregnant, have miscarriages, or have children with severe health problems. I have been so blessed… that being said—can I just have a minute or two to complain? This pregnancy has been so easy in terms of morning sickness, but I’ve really been struggling the last few weeks. I’m hoping things will get better, but if not, it’s definitely going to be a long month. My comfort level is non-existent. For the last week I’ve had an awful pain under my left breast. I’m swollen. I’ve had awful migraines. I’ve had weird vision changes (seeing black dots that move around crazily). I could go on. The pain on my left side is so intense that there are times that I can’t even lift my arm, let alone pick Jaiden up, and so on. I spent yesterday morning in the doctors office having them check and recheck blood pressure which was elevated a decent amount compared to my normal levels (I’ve never been over 108 and today it was 149). Long story short I left with no answers. There are countless things that it could possibly be…. but we’re just praying that something isn’t getting overlooked. I’ll suffer through it if it’s just normal aches and pains of pregnancy… but I feel like there are too many red flags to not mean something. I’m going to monitor everything over the weekend and if things don’t get better, I’ll go back in Monday morning. I feel that there are definitely so many parts of pregnancy that are a complete mystery, but there’s something to be said about intuition. I’ll keep everyone up to date.

all of the arts & crafts Jaid & I made at the St. Patty's day party!

Other news—Jaiden had his 15 month appointment on Wednesday morning. He is 32 inches (77th percentile) and weighs 24 lbs (48th percentile)… right on track. He is such a FLIRT with ever female in sight. He continues to blow us away with his ability to learn new things each day. He loves looking at animal books and is starting to point to specific animals if you ask him to. He is learning more animal noises and is starting to add more words to his vocabulary. If he can’t say what it is that he wants, he knows exactly how to tell you. He will pull your arm, push your legs, come up from behind you and start pulling you, until you get up to follow him to what he wants to show you. He loves to make us laugh and has what we call the “cheesy” smile which gets us cracking up every time. He is quite the ham. We’ve continued to work on being gentle and talking about babies. If you walk into Makenna’s nursery and ask who’s room it is he will tell you it’s “Maaa” I know, I know, he has no idea who Makenna is, but he knows it’s her room :) Kevin has worked with him for the past week on trying to go down the stairs (he mastered going up a LONG time ago, but never has understood going down). He’s finally mastered it, which I couldn’t be more thrilled about. Carrying him up and down along with the extra weight in the belly has started to get really difficult. Plus once Makenna arrives it’ll be much easier (and safer) for all of us if I’m only carrying one baby instead of two. Jaiden has just started to be picky about certain foods. I talked to the doctor about it, and as much as it sucks, it’s completely normal as well. I can’t complain too much because he still eats a really good variety of stuff, but there’s been a few times where we end up having to make two different dinners, which I hate. Oh well, it’s a phase, we’ll keep offering him our stuff, and hopefully he’ll appreciate the variety sometime soon. All in all he has been growing and changing so much that we’re just trying to soak it all in. He’s turning into such a big boy and I can’t even imagine how much bigger he’ll look in a matter of weeks when he’s holding his little sissy in his arms.

blurry picture-- but it portrays the CHEESY smile PERFECTLY

Ultrasound Pictures

My sister did an amazing job last week getting some adorable 3D ultrasound pics of our little princess. This ultrasound was done at 32w1d and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Makenna was in the perfect position so we could get some pictures of her little face. I plan on printing at least one fairly big and bringing it to the hospital with me for the delivery. It’s such an awesome experience getting to peek at our girl before she arrives. Let me just say, she’s a wild one. She was holding onto the umbilical cord and shaking it intently, rubbing her eyes, possibly sucking her thumb, opening her eyes, stretching, kicking, punching, and so on. I can’t believe we’re finally at the point where we can say that she’ll be arriving next month. We can't wait! Here’s some pictures of our little cutie pa-tutee :)
