Goodbye First Tri…& Happy 10 Months To Our Little Boy :)

It’s hard to believe that we’ve entered the second phase of this pregnancy already. WooHooo! The countdown is on… our ultrasound is just 7 days away!! We’re so excited to see the gender on this little bean :) We’ve started the name game again and have some definite favorites in the running. But, more on that at a later date! I’ve been feeling much better lately so that’s definitely been a plus. The one day that I was sick this past week, Jaiden completely made it better within minutes. As I was throwing up Jaiden crawled into the bathroom, stands up next to me as I’m kneeling over the toilet, and put his hand on my back until I was done. How stinking cute is that?! He’s the best. I honestly am so grateful to be able to spend my days at home with him. Power to all the working mama’s out there, but I so couldn't do it :/

I’ve been trying to give short updates on what’s new with Jaiden with each blog update, but there have been so many new things lately that I feel I need to add more to it. Jaiden, my Mom, and I went to IL to visit my Grandma Williams. He did great for the car ride and had so much fun exploring all the new places to get into at my Grandma’s house. I was upstairs showering and as I came downstairs my mom informed me that he had mastered the stairs. Sure enough he saw me at the top of the stairs and crawled half way up to meet me. He’s was so fast getting up them that there’s no way you’d believe he had just figured it out 10 minutes prior. Good thing we have gates up at home!

He has a whole new appreciation for reading books and not only sits and really listens, he also has figured out how to turn the pages.

He’s turned into an absolute dancing machine. He dances constantly.. standing, sitting, eating, during car rides, with music or without. It’s adorable. I’ve been trying to get it on video but no such luck yet. Hopefully soon. It’s the best when he really gets his whole body into it… head bobbing, arms flaying, knees bending—you get the picture. Super cute!

He’s definitely starting to really listen and understand what you say. If I tell him to go get his ball, he’ll crawl around until it’s found. After he gets undressed for a bath, if you say “lets go get in the bath” he’ll crawl to the bathroom. (If we don’t tell him, I swear he’d play in his room naked for the entire night). We’ll be playing with toys in the living room, and I’ll ask if he’s hungry and ready for some rice cereal and banana and he’ll crawl right over to his high chair. We can also tell him to wave, dance, clap, give kisses, throw the ball, etc and he knows exactly what we’re talking about. It’s been so fun seeing him process all these new things and really grasp what we’re saying.

Another new thing he’s into is toilets, unfortunately. We are definitely going to need to invest in toilet locks, but I refuse until the morning sickness is completely over. He has loved any form of water since the day we brought him home from the hospital (he loved baths from the get go, and the sound of running water always soothed him) but the obsession with toilets I’m not really a fan of. If you take your eyes off him for even a second he will throw whatever is in his reach in. He’s also tried desperately to reach the water, but that is just not going to happen. Gross. I’m hoping this phase passes, but if it’s’ anything like his obsession with the dogs water dishes, we’re in for trouble.

Alright, that’s enough updates for now. I’m beat. I have a feeling that the next 7 nights I won’t be getting the best sleep because of the anticipation of the ultrasound! It’s set for 1pm Saturday afternoon. My guess is that we’ll probably do a little shopping afterwards, but I’ll be sure to update everyone when we find out. I’m curious though… what are all your thoughts?! BOY or GIRL?! Get your guesses in!!

One last thing. Jaiden get’s his first haircut on Tuesday!! His hair is hanging over his ears and he has a little ponytail emerging in the back. My little boy is growing up! Check back later this week for pictures from his haircut and from his first Halloween! :)

I've uploaded 3 new videos below. One is of him eating banana chocolate chip muffins (which from watching the video you'll see just how much he loves). Make sure you watch through the part where he appears to shake his head "yes" when I ask him if he wants more. Another video is of him playing catch with Kevin and the last is of him figuring out his shape sorting learning to walk toy. Kev & I put the shapes in the right places, but Jaiden will push them in then pull the lever down to get the shapes back out. He's a smart little guy :)

FINALLY!!!

I’ve now officially heard the best thing to come out of my little guy’s mouth... Mama! I went to my 12 week appointment Wednesday and knowing ahead of time that it was going to be a longer appointment, I had my mom come over to watch Jaiden. As soon as I got home and walked in the door, Jaiden crawled over to me and said “mama!!” It was pretty much the cutest thing ever! FINALLY!

Our newest discovery is how fun it is to stick your tongue out... It’s pretty much turning into a constant thing with him, but how could you not love this sweet face?! In case I haven't said it before, Jaiden is 100% all boy. He loves knocking block towers over, playing with cars, throwing any kind of ball, and so on. He loves emptying his toy baskets one toy at a time, and then once it's empty he'll move on to something else, no longer interested in any of the toys he pulled out. He tries to do this with our bookshelves too. If I let him, he'd be there all day pulling off one book after another. Silly kid. We're working on him finding his belly button and "sooooo big." Hopefully we'll have some cute videos to share soon.

Jaiden had his first REAL fall on Thursday evening. Don’t get me wrong, he’s fallen numerous times and has little bumps and bruises to prove it, but this was big time. He was standing next to our dining room chairs and fell, slamming his mouth on the metal bar at the bottom. I was sitting right next to him and I knew it was bad just from the sound. He looked up at me with his mouth covered in blood and then it started running out of his mouth and down his face. Poor little guy started chocking on all the blood. I was almost certain that his bottom teeth had bit entirely through his top lip, but thankful it wasn’t all the way through. He had a big time swollen lip and a hard time sucking his thumb that evening, but he’s been a trooper throughout the ordeal. I cannot stand seeing anyone in pain... let alone my little baby :/

The 12 week appointment went good— for the most part. I didn’t write much about this before, but I had three urinary tract infections when pregnant with Jaiden and just found out I have the second u.t.i. with this pregnancy, and I'm just in the 12th week! The plan as of now is to be on medication (yet AGAIN) and then be on a low dose antibiotic for the remainder of the pregnancy. The only thing that really sucks in the yucky side effects... nausea and vomiting. Perfect! Let’s add more variables to make me feel extra icky. I’m just anxious to not have to worry about them anymore. U.T.I. + pregnancy = no good, for me or baby, so fingers crossed I won’t any other issues with this in the future. Other super exciting news-- I'm already feeling little flutters!! I asked the Dr about it because I thought I may just be crazy, but because of how close the pregnancies are together he said it wouldn't surprise him too much. When the nurse was checking baby 2's heartbeat with the doppler (which took at least 8-10 minutes to find... I was panicking) she ended up finding the heartrate at the exact spot I've been feeling little flutters. Pregnancy never really feels "real" until you can feel some sort of movement. Im just excited I felt it so early on. It definitely helps get me through all the crummy times.

We're off to the apple orchard/pumpkin patch again today :) I'm excited to have Jaiden pick out his first pumpkin... but I'm even more excited to eat all the seeds. YUMMM! I'll post pictures later :)

Belly Pic :)

Alright... here it is. Much bigger this time around than I was at 11 weeks with Jaiden. So many people have been asking for my guess on baby's gender, but I refuse. Ha! I think we all remember just how sure I was last time around. Obviously as I've said before, my intuition sucks! Kevin thinks another boy, my Mom is fairly certain it's a girl. We'll see!! I'm dying to know. There are lots of similarities between this pregnancy and last, but I do have to say the difference are overwhelming. Even still, I don't dare make a guess because I know each pregnancy is completely different from the last. Time will tell :)

Cruisin' :)

We got out Jaiden's sit to stand learning walker from the basement the other day... and let me just say that he was beyond thrilled. I wasn't sure if he would get it just yet, but of course he not only got it, but mastered it within minutes. Ahh! My little baby is going to walking around on his own before we know it!

I have to share how pumped I am about my recent purchases. A good friend of mine and myself hit up a few mom2mom sales in the area, and scored BIG time. The first one I found tons of cool toys-- and only spent $16!

At the last sale I scored an absolutely beautiful crib (Delta Soho retails for over $300) for $30... yes you read that right. $30! Its in great shape, and converts to a toddler bed, day bed, and full size bed so I'm sure we'll get a lot of use out of it. It was missing some of the hardware, which we ordered the other day and I need to buy a mattress for it, but other than that- it's perfect! It's exactly like the one in this picture, but ours is black. I cannot wait to start decorating another nursery for #2. I can't help but wonder if it will be filled with tons of pink, or more blue?! My sister is going to do an ultrasound when I'm 15 weeks along and FINGERS CROSSED she'll be able to tell us baby's gender. Only 4 more weeks!!!!!!!

Last but not least I've been on the hunt for a double stroller. There's tons that I'd LOVE to splurge on.. but I was really hoping to be able to find a deal somewhere. I've had a few people offer to be on the look-out as well, but I really didn't know exactly what I was looking for so I knew it had to be something that I found. Needless to say I finally found the perfect one! I know I have a few months before I needed to start panicking, but the more I can cross of my list now, the better. Again, it's in absolutely perfect condition... and I bought it for $60 at a consignment store. The only thing it needs is a "snack bar" for the front seat. Yayy for me. Sorry, I'm sure you all don't share my enthusiasm, but there's just something that draws me to an amazing deal.

Here's a picture of my men at the orchard this past weekend :) The bottom picture doesn't really do the situation justice. Jaiden had his first donut and he could not get that donut in his mouth fast enough. He loved it!

Belly picture coming soon. I forgot! I'm back to throwing up everyday- but I'm done complaining. I'll feel better eventually.
