I’ve now officially heard the best thing to come out of my little guy’s mouth... Mama! I went to my 12 week appointment Wednesday and knowing ahead of time that it was going to be a longer appointment, I had my mom come over to watch Jaiden. As soon as I got home and walked in the door, Jaiden crawled over to me and said “mama!!” It was pretty much the cutest thing ever! FINALLY!
Our newest discovery is how fun it is to stick your tongue out... It’s pretty much turning into a constant thing with him, but how could you not love this sweet face?! In case I haven't said it before, Jaiden is 100% all boy. He loves knocking block towers over, playing with cars, throwing any kind of ball, and so on. He loves emptying his toy baskets one toy at a time, and then once it's empty he'll move on to something else, no longer interested in any of the toys he pulled out. He tries to do this with our bookshelves too. If I let him, he'd be there all day pulling off one book after another. Silly kid. We're working on him finding his belly button and "sooooo big." Hopefully we'll have some cute videos to share soon.
Jaiden had his first REAL fall on Thursday evening. Don’t get me wrong, he’s fallen numerous times and has little bumps and bruises to prove it, but this was big time. He was standing next to our dining room chairs and fell, slamming his mouth on the metal bar at the bottom. I was sitting right next to him and I knew it was bad just from the sound. He looked up at me with his mouth covered in blood and then it started running out of his mouth and down his face. Poor little guy started chocking on all the blood. I was almost certain that his bottom teeth had bit entirely through his top lip, but thankful it wasn’t all the way through. He had a big time swollen lip and a hard time sucking his thumb that evening, but he’s been a trooper throughout the ordeal. I cannot stand seeing anyone in pain... let alone my little baby :/
The 12 week appointment went good— for the most part. I didn’t write much about this before, but I had three urinary tract infections when pregnant with Jaiden and just found out I have the second u.t.i. with this pregnancy, and I'm just in the 12th week! The plan as of now is to be on medication (yet AGAIN) and then be on a low dose antibiotic for the remainder of the pregnancy. The only thing that really sucks in the yucky side effects... nausea and vomiting. Perfect! Let’s add more variables to make me feel extra icky. I’m just anxious to not have to worry about them anymore. U.T.I. + pregnancy = no good, for me or baby, so fingers crossed I won’t any other issues with this in the future. Other super exciting news-- I'm already feeling little flutters!! I asked the Dr about it because I thought I may just be crazy, but because of how close the pregnancies are together he said it wouldn't surprise him too much. When the nurse was checking baby 2's heartbeat with the doppler (which took at least 8-10 minutes to find... I was panicking) she ended up finding the heartrate at the exact spot I've been feeling little flutters. Pregnancy never really feels "real" until you can feel some sort of movement. Im just excited I felt it so early on. It definitely helps get me through all the crummy times.
We're off to the apple orchard/pumpkin patch again today :) I'm excited to have Jaiden pick out his first pumpkin... but I'm even more excited to eat all the seeds. YUMMM! I'll post pictures later :)
